SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will have direct responsibility for managing all financial transactions through the completion and preparation of monthly financial statements, management of the accounting team, building accounting processes and implementing improvements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Timely completion of month-end close and preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Work with outside auditors for year-end financial audit and 401(k) audit.
  • Develop accounting process documentation.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Develop annual budget and monthly reporting of budget versus actual, investigating variances.
  • Recommend and implement cost savings opportunities.
  • Management and development of accounting staff.
  • Preparation of property tax, sales tax and 1099’s.
  • Develop and update standard labor and burden rates, and investigate monthly variances.
  • Lead annual physical inventory count process, and develop cycle count process.
  • Develop and manage KPI’s.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably in a manufacturing company.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills to develop staff and drive results
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems, Excel, and financial reporting software
  • Possess a high attention to detail.
  • Exhibit good time management skills and ability to prioritize workload.
  • Motivated self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills with superiors, peers, and subordinates.
  • Strong verbal and written English language communication skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.  The employee is frequently required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds while moving components, fixtures, equipment and/or small packages.
